Nigeria will work again in 2023 — Tinubu

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu said the party has the resources to continue to set Nigeria on the path to progress.

Tinubu said so on Saturday in Abuja during the launch of the APC North Speakers Door-to-Door for Tinubu/Shettima 2023 which was held at the Sheraton Hotel and Abuja Towers.

According to the presidential candidate, APC, as a party with progressive ideas, will continue to set Nigeria on the path to progress and maintain its legacy in the transport sector, agricultural sector and education sector for the good of every Nigerian. He said that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during its 16 years in power was responsible for the current situation in Nigeria, while pledging that APC would make Nigeria work and grow again.

“We are the party of progressive ideas. We want good education for our children, good development for Nigeria, prosperity for this country, agricultural and agri-food projects to be undertaken. We have the confidence, we have what it takes, we have the courage, we have the determination, we have the perseverance, we have the foresight to identify Nigeria’s problem and take it head on and make it a solution for the prosperity of your children and tomorrow. Your grandchildren’s work and tomorrow’s progress has started now,” he said.

He added, however, that with the likes of his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima, the Managing Director of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for the 2023 elections and the Governor of Plateau State, Governor Simon Lalong and other stakeholders, the party has a winning team that will deliver victory to the party by 2023. He also commended the APC Northern Speakers Forum for their doggedness and determination in presenting a laudable project that will not will only increase the chances of the APC in 2023, but also record victory in the election.

“If for calculation we have the calculator, if for measurement we have a Shettima. If for strategy and thinking there is a governor here, we have Lalong. Why do we have to worry about them but just wait for the calendar, the day of the vote and we dig their cemeteries and dump them there. We don’t have to worry about the PDP; Poverty Development Party. They have spent 16 years and forget that there is rail infrastructure that can do transportation, human transportation, animal husbandry and transportation, food transportation back and forth, east and western Nigeria. If they want to pose a problem, we are better at countering them because we are thinkers and doers.

“They got there; they turned the railroad into a chicken incubator and a dirty field. I wonder why they still exist as a party. These are people who are always fighting for the direction of their party looking for the direction of the compass, rain or shine. We are not at all equal. We are smarter, we know where to go,

“We know the road, let them follow. I need to see the upgrade and I saw the calculator win percentage upgrade. We are therefore very honored and proud of what you (the Speakers’ Forum) have done in donations and contributions. We want more men and women of goodwill to do the same for this election,” Tinubu said.

Meanwhile, APC vice-presidential candidate Senator Kashim Shettima said the 2023 elections should be the time for Tinubu’s payback for what he did in enthroning the democracy in Nigeria and for his consistent stance for fairness, justice and equity in the country. He said Tinubu is a leader who believes in Nigeria unity and without him in 2015; President Muhammadu Buhari would not have become president.

Shettima added that the presidential candidate has deployed his time, made sacrifices and ensured that figures like Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, former Governor of Edo State Adams Oshiomhole, former Ondo State Governor Olusegun Mimiko, former Osun State Governor and Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola recovered their stolen warrants through the courts. He said the PDP presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar benefited from Tinubu’s gesture when he was harassed and ousted from the PDP in 2007 by former President Obasanjo and provided the defunct Congress of Action’s platform for Atiku.

“President Muhammadu Buhari would not have become president in 2015 without Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. This gentleman has invested his resources, time and good will to bring the presidency of this country to another part of Nigeria and this is the time for payback. We must build a new Nigeria. We must build a new nation. And the future of this country depends on the quality of the leaders we choose. Posterity will judge us harshly if we miss this opportunity to choose a leader who has the quality of leadership that this country needs.

“He is a simple man with a big heart, a detribalized Nigerian who believes that everyone has a role to play in the Nigerian project. We all remember the sacrifices he made to ensure that people like Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, former Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko, former Osun State Governor and Home Minister, Rauf Aregbesola, recovered their stolen warrants through the judiciary,” Shettima added.

The Progressive Congress APC Northern State Assembly Assembly Speakers Forum, through its Chairman, The Right Honorable Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani, also assured the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his unreserved support in achieving his presidential dreams in 2023.

Zailani, who is also the Speaker of the Kaduna State Assembly, said lawmakers did not care about the origin of the Nigerian President, whether he was Muslim or Christian, Yoruba, Ibo or Hausa, but a president who will bring democratic dividends to Nigerians.

He said that with over 205 members elected from the houses of assembly in the northern part of the country, victory for Tinubu/Shettima is assured as lawmakers will work diligently to ensure that the APC wins the presidential election in 2023.

“For us lawmakers, we didn’t care where the Nigerian president came from, whether he was Ibo, Yoruba or Hausa, whether he was Muslim or Christian, but a president who will bring democratic dividends to Nigerians. We want to guarantee you over 70% Northern votes because we are fully on the ground in our various states and constituencies. Never mind those who sit in Abuja and make noise, members of the State Houses of Assembly are on the ground in support of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.

“We will use our small resources and will not collect any money from our presidential candidate or governors as this is our own way of showing our support for our party and our presidential candidate,” he said. .
