Lighthouse Center Seeks Partners For Summer Work Experience Program
The Lighthouse Vision Loss Education Center is looking for people from the business community to join its Workplace Learning Program, a summer program that helps teens affected by vision loss gain valuable work experiences .
Learning experiences can last from one week to four weeks during the month of July.
The Lighthouse Young Adult Program is designed for students aged 14 to 22 with vision loss. The Workplace Learning Experience program helps teens and young adults develop their independence as they prepare for the transition from high school to continuing education and / or employment.
“The workplace learning experience gives high school students affected by vision loss the opportunity to learn valuable workplace skills that they can use for the rest of their lives,” said Lisa Howard, CEO of Lighthouse. “We encourage local businesses to partner with Le Phare to support the goal of independence for our young clients. “
