FG impressed with work progress at Zuba Housing Estate – The Sun Nigeria

The The Minister of State for Public Works and Housing, Mu,azu Jaji Sambo, expressed satisfaction with the pace of works at the FHA Mass Housing Estate site in Zuba, Abuja.

According to Mr. Kenneth Chikelue, Public Affairs Officer, Federal Housing Authority, the Sambo made the call during a visit to check the level of completion of the estate, in preparation for its commissioning.

He said the minister was taken to the estate by the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, accompanied by the Executive Director of Project Implementation of the Authority. , Sam Chinonso Omoke, among other staff.

The minister inspected the remaining nine blocks of flats which are at various stages of completion. During the inspection, however, the Minister observed that he needed adjustments to the exterior finish of certain blocks. He also observed that the trees planted in the field are still at the nursery stage, as it advised that from now on, efforts should be made to plant trees on sites as soon as construction begins, so that trees can grow as the project progresses.

The minister asked management to provide the exact percentage of work remaining to be done in the area, which will determine the actual time for the final completion of the project.

The Zuba Mass Housing Estate is a Federal Housing Authority pilot project to be replicated nationwide. The project sits on 18 hectares of land, housing 764 units of various house types. The breakdown shows a total of 16 blocks of 3 bedroom flats in a block of 8 flats, 32 blocks of 2 bedroom flats in a block of 8 flats, 14 blocks of one bedroom flats in a block of 16 apartments and 5 duplex blocks with terrace. in 4 rows.

The estate is already serviced with 100% completed standard infrastructure such as roads and sewers, external water distribution network, external electricity reticulation, perimeter fencing works, water stations 3Nos, injection transformers, civil works and maintenance of blocks with underground cables.
