Danvers Gas main works will start on Monday and last up to 6 weeks
DANVERS, MA — A National Grid gas main replacement project expected to take up to six weeks will begin on Cabot Road and Little Drive in Danvers on Monday.
Work is being prepared for the water main replacement which is scheduled to begin in April on Little Drive and in June or July on Cabot Road.
National Grid said work on Cabot Road will take place from Chestnut Street to Coolidge Road and will take around six weeks. Gas work on Little Drive is expected to take approximately two weeks.
Construction will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on weekdays.
“National Grid will work with the Danvers Police Department to determine the best possible ways to get traffic through the work area during working hours,” the utility company said. “Due to the nature of this type of construction, you may experience some temporary inconvenience such as traffic delays, detours, noise, dust.”
National Grid is asking residents passing through the area to be prepared to encounter construction equipment and possible delays.
Those with questions about the work can call Courtney Donaher, senior national grid supervisor, at 508-431-5602.
