The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) repaired the traffic jam-ridden Obajana junction along the Kabbah-Lokoja-Abuja road after calls for help from Dangote Cement and the Federal Ministry of Works were unsuccessful. .

Repairs to the dilapidated road were initiated by FRSC Zariagi Unit Command in conjunction with NURTW.

Moses Odogiyon, the Zariagi unit commander, said, “Our officers’ experience at this crossroads on Friday and Saturday was very bitter. Due to the bad road condition, it took us 48 hours to clear the traffic jam. So repairing the damaged part is a great achievement for us.

The FRSC official revealed that letters had been written to the Federal Ministry of Public Works and Dangote Cement for help, “but nothing came of it”.

“We had written to the Federal Ministry of Public Works and Dangote Cement for assistance, but nothing came. We just had to find another way, which paid off today,” Mr. Odogiyon added. “We are grateful to NURTW Chairman Haruna Salami who quickly mobilized his members for the repair of the damaged part.”

Mr. Salami praised the collaboration between NURTW and FRSC.

“As the chairman of NURTW here in Zariagi, I am very happy that this damaged part of the Zariagi-Kabba Junction roundabout is repaired, considering the series of accidents and traffic jams encountered here,” he said. he declares.
